1^st Sabah Teachers Conference. June 9^th 2009

Sekolah Swasta Seri Insan and ProVisi Education, Jakarta co-sponsored the 1^st Sabah Teachers Conference at the Sabah Golf and Country Club on Monday, June 8^th.

The conference had full attendance and generated so much enthusiasm there will now be a 2^nd Sabah Teachers Conference in 2010.   Participants came from many schools in KK including: SM and SRS Advent Tamparuli, SMK Perempuan, SM All Saints, SM St Michaels, SM Stella Maris, Kinabalu Commerical College, SM Shan Tao, Tshung Tsin, Sinaran Institute, Kent College Tuaran, Keningau Teachers College, International English Center, Maryland Kindergarten, Sekolah Rendah Swasta Seri Insan, Makab Nasional, SRS Datuk Simon Fung, Kiddie’s Ark Pre School, SJK Chung Hwa Likas, SRK Chung Hwa KK, Tadika Chung Hwa Penampang, KK Indonesian School, SM La Salle, SM St Peter’s Telipok, Daughters and Sons Learning Center, SJK and SM St Francis Convent, Tadika Sinaran Ria, Taska Suausindak, Maktab Sabah and Sekolah Seri Mengasih.

The topics for the day included:

Awaken the Leader in You’  with Romy Cahayadi, CEO ProVisi Education, Jakarta.

Being Creative in the Classroom without ICT’ by Helena Kurumon, Deputy Principal, Sekolah Swasta Seri Insan.

Differentiated Learning: The Special and the Majority in One Setting’  by Siebrig Schreuder, Education Consultant focusing on Special Education, ProVisi Education, Jakarta

Great Teacher, Great Spirit’ with Iskandar Ahmad. Chief Executive Officer of BUMI IT Consulting Sdn. Bhd., District Manager of AIA Co. Ltd. and Managing Director of Ahmad Leadership Inc.

The conference was rounded off by a panel forum where teachers were free to ask any queires they had from the panel of experts.

The Guest of Honour at the closing ceremony was Datuk Pengiran Mohd Hussein, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sekolah Swasta Seri Insan.
